PASS/EQUIP → Working with PASS/EQUIP → Data input → Column components
Attachments, service platforms, trays, concentrated masses and external loads can be adjoined to cylindrical shells of columns. Their position, dimensions and mass (forces) are added to loads and considered in vessel strength and stability analysis under wind and seismic loads.
Fig. 1. Packing
When calculating the weight load, the packing is considered as a complex component containing:
welded part weighing Gw (taken into account in any design mode);
removable part weighing Gr-Gw (taken into account in the design mode according to the options "Present under mounting/test conditions");
liquid (if any) in the form of a conditional cylinder weighing r1×p×D12/4×h1×x1 (taken into account in operating conditions);
filler (catalyst) in the form of a conventional cylinder weighing r×p×D12/4×h1 (always taken into account in operating conditions, in the mounting/test conditions according to the specified options).
The table of materials used is formed taking into account the materials assigned to the welded and removable part.
Fig. 2. Tray block
When calculating, a group of trays is considered as several lumped masses attached to a parent component with an equal pitch. The weight load of each tray is taken into account in the same way as for the “Packing” component.
When rendering the model, the trays are displayed conditionally. If necessary, you can combine them with the “Custom equipment” component, preparing a tray of any required design in any CAD system.
